Ideas around the interplay between fantasy and reality have long been of interest within my artwork, and it is out of this mix, or so I suspect, that this project first began to take shape. It started as a series of six pastel drawings: portraits of the actor John Curtis Holmes. He is depicted playing the role of the drug baron `Mr Costa´ in the 1985 film titled `Marina Vice.´ A few months after finishing these pictures work then began to bring these artworks into some form of public view.
