In its current form, the artwork then continues with more than fifty pictures and over thirty various-sized texts. It makes clear to the onlooker that though isolated for 127 years, the rabbits lived alongside a remarkable range of individuals and events. Images and words trace a pathway through this complex history, touching on topics such as invasion, conservation, going feral and running wild, along with starvation, shipwreck, sub-Antarctic agriculture, global politics, and bio-economics. Even an act of cloning occurs in this story—to bring a breed back from almost certain extinction. As outlined above, this is a large artwork, requiring a considerable amount of physical space if it is to be shown it its final, finished form. Work is now underway to find a suitable location for the exhibition of this particular work.
