Both personal memories and broader historical forces are referenced within the context of this series of work—referenced in an effort to speculate on and consider how we might come to picture our pasts today. With these particular work examples, my grandparents are the central subject, and the works shown here trace the one trip they made overseas before their health fell into serious decline. Two of the audio files from this exhibit have been included in this work documentation. They provide an insight into how visual images, text, personal memories, and historical facts have been combined to bring forward a sense of a specific time and specific place.
