Shown in June of 2017, these were the first five artworks put up for display from a broader series titled The Neighbourhood. At the time of displaying these five works, thirty-five two-sided panels were at various points of development. In their finished state, the artwork shows a variety of images along with a number of texts. In general, it could be said that this artwork is an investigation into the city of Dunedin—the place where I was born and grew up. Focussed on questions of neighbourhood and the neighbour, the work could also be understood as a type of visual cartography, a type of map-making that looks into how we might highlight and recover what once stood so ordinarily before us.
