Time too, and the sense that this artwork might act as a reminder and report of the past, seemed to drift off as the number of works for this project began to accumulate and increase. Instead I found myself moving between the event of the airship´s initial appearance and more contemporary uses of coal in modern industries at sites throughout the world today. It was as if the pictures of the Zeppelin from 80 years ago had themselves become a type of transit point, bringing in and sending off any number of other images that had some bearing on this initial discovery. And so the work moves from a flying airship and its appearance in a small town in Zürich to the large-scale use of an energy source, mined and set fire to today.
