On a crisp September afternoon the artwork was installed in a catchment pond, down at a display depth of around half a meter. Formerly owned by the firm Zellweger, the pond had once been the envy of the many other factories that were located and operating in the area. The Zellweger pond was the largest in the region, draining vast quantities of water to power its factory's machines, and by doing so it left very little water for any businesses located further downstream. Yet despite these internal troubles, for many years Uster was known as a city of success and prosperity, where a once quiet town of some 33 000 residents could lay claim to being the most heavily industrialised area in Europe. Yet water-power, along with the city's claim on industrial dominance, has long-since evaporated and vanished.
